Standing up for Harrow's Schools

As a former teacher and now with my two children, I know one of the greatest things about Harrow is our excellent schools. That's why I'm leading the campaign to stop the cuts to our local schools.

For more than twenty years I've been fighting to make sure our schools have the tools they need to grow and develop: investing in new buildings, hiring extra teachers and increasing support for children with special needs.

Schools like Marlborough Primary, where we successfully campaigned for a new building, but is now threatened by deep cuts to their funding:

The Conservative’s plans mean £15m would be cut from Harrow schools - that's about £600 for every single pupil. Our children are the future of our borough and we should be investing in them rather than cutting school funding.

A Tory MP for Harrow will give the government a blank cheque to deepen these cuts, axe free school dinners and threaten the future of many of our schools. And it's not just me who is worried - two independent think tanks have stated that a Conservative government would leave schools worse off in 2021 than they are now.

You can see from below just how savage the cuts to schools in Harrow West have been.

That's why I'm asking for your support on 8 June to re-elect me as a strong voice in Parliament to protect our schools.
