Last month I asked in the House of Commons whether the Leader of the House would intervene in the case of one of my constituents, Gordon Mansbridge.
Mr Mansbridge is a 90 year old war veteran who flew some 33 Wellington bomber missions from an Italian airbase during the Second World War.
Sir John Holmes is investigating the possibility of recognition in the form of a medal clasp, but that review is not likely to be completed until the end of the year. I suggested that given the circumstances, the MOD might consider speeding up the review. Unfortunately I have yet to receive a positive response.

Mr Mansbridge’s case was featured in the Harrow Times: Calls for war service medal for terminally ill Gordon Mansbridge of Rayners Lane, the Harrow Observer: War hero with cancer is fighting his final battle and on BBC London News.
