Low Pay in Harrow

New figures published by the House of Commons Library this month found that Harrow West is ranked the 2nd worst constituency in London for the number of residents working in low paid jobs.

42% of all residents in Harrow West are paid less than the London Living Wage (£8.80), significantly higher than the national average (20%). Harrow West was also the 8th worst constituency when the figures were analysed by gender.

The statistics in Harrow were featured both in the GuardianTUC highlights UK's pay blackspots where half get less than living wage and the Daily Mail: A nation divided by earnings: Map reveals how half of people in some areas earn less than living wage of £7.65-an-hour
